The history of the Physics Students Scientific Association at the Jagiellonian University dates back to 1893 when 20 mathematics and physics students decided to establish the Mathematical-Physical Association of Students of the Jagiellonian University. In 1959, after the reactivation of the Association's activities, it split into two parts: the Physics Students Scientific Association at the Jagiellonian University and the Association of Mathematics Students at the Jagiellonian University. Since its inception, the Association has organised seminars, lectures, and conferences. Contemporary fruits of this activity include the Interuniversity Student Physics Conference, the fourth edition of which we are all co-creating. Recent achievements of the Associotion include: the publication of Professor Sokołowski's script on the Special Theory of Relativity, organising a series of winter and summer schools, a scientific trip to Chernobyl, and a meeting with (later) Nobel laureate Roger Penrose in 2016.

Historia Naukowego Koła Fizyków Studentów UJ sięga 1893 roku, kiedy 20 studentów matematyki i fizyki postanowiło utworzyć Kółko Matematyczno-Fizyczne Uczniów Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego. W 1959 roku, po reaktywacji działania Koła, podzieliło sie ono na dwie części: Naukowe Koło Fizyków Studentów UJ oraz Koło Matematyków Studentów UJ. Od momentu powstania Koło organizowało seminaria, odczyty i konferencje. Współcześnie owocami tej działalności jest Studencka Międzyuczelniana Ogólnofizyczna Konferencja, której czwartą edycję współtworzymy my wszyscy. Do osiągnięć Koła w ostatnich latach należą również: wydanie skryptu prof. Sokołowskiego ze Szczególnej Teorii Względności, organizacja szeregu szkół zimowych i letnich, wyjazd naukowy do Czarnobyla oraz spotkanie z (późniejszym) noblistą Rogerem Penrosem w 2016 roku.
